The Spinnaker Tower is a masterpiece of architecture in and of itself. This remarkable building, designed by local firm HGP Architects (founded by Hedley Greentree) and engineering consultant Scott Wilson and built by Mowlems, pays homage to Portsmouth’s maritime history with a towering glass sail-inspired design. Due to its imposing presence and distinctive silhouette, it has become a recognized symbol of the city and attracts tourists from all over the world.
The tower offers a variety of captivating features and experiences. The observation platforms offer beautiful panoramic views of the city, the Solent, and beyond. Visitors can quickly get to the observation decks by the internal high-speed lift, where they can take in the beauty of the surroundings and admire the horizon’s vastness. The Spinnaker Tower also features elegant restaurants, Waterfront Café and Café in the Clouds, that welcome visitors to enjoy delicious food while taking in the breathtaking surroundings. And in addition to that, due to open on June 22nd for the first time, the new Sky Bar! Located on the middle floor above the tower’s main viewing deck, The Sky Bar will offer an enchanting atmosphere that perfectly complements the panorama of the city and the shimmering waters below – a haven where visitors can unwind, mingle, and savor delicious cocktails while taking in the breathtaking scenery. The bar will offer cocktails and premium drinks, including a signature ‘Spinnaker Tower’ cocktail. The opening hours will be 8pm to 12am, Thursday to Sunday.
To commemorate the grand opening of the Sky Bar, Spinnaker Tower has curated an exciting treasure hunt, which is taking place starting today, June 6 until June 8. 100 Golden Tickets have been hidden around Portsmouth, anywhere that can be seen in the tower’s spectacular 23-mile view. Once a Golden Ticket is discovered, the lucky finder can simply scan the code and use the unique number to secure free entry for themselves and a guest to the Sky Bar. As an added delight, each person will also receive a complimentary cocktail to enhance their experience. In addition to the treasure hunt, participants who register for the event will have the chance to win an exclusive VIP Sky Bar night out for themselves and up to 14 friends, complete with complimentary drinks.
