Waves Above The Sky At The Top Of The Haeundae LCT The Sharp – Busan X The Sky

It is the last day of November, and before we embark on a new month filled with holiday joy, we want to take a moment to note the anniversary of the completion of the Haeundae LCT The Sharp building in Busan, South-Korea, home to our beloved member Busan X the Sky, which took place on November 30, 2019.

The Haeundae LCT The Sharp consists of one 411.6 meter / 1350 feet tall landmark tower with 101 floors and two residential towers of 339 meters / 1112.2 feet and 333 meters / 1092.5 feet, with 85 floors and 882 households. The landmark tower is the tallest in Busan, and the second highest building in Korea. Another member of the World Federation of Great Towers, the Lotte World Tower in Seoul, is currently the tallest in the country with 555 meters / 1820.8 feet of height. On the top 98th, 99th and 100th floors of the LCT tower, the observatory Busan X the Sky is located, which opened on on July 17, 2020, and there is a lot to discover up there!

Guests can ride the ‘Sky Cruise’ elevator to reach the 100th floor in a mere 58 seconds. The ‘Sky Cruise’ is installed with LED lights and plays videos that give visitors the impression of being under water, as a fitting prelude to the view over the beach and waves that is ahead. The observation deck offers unforgettable views over Haeundae Beach, Marine City, Gwangan Bridge, and so much more. On this floor, guests can walk over the ‘Shocking Bridge,’ a glass floor observation hall with a view right down to Haeundae Beach, and have the waves right under their (probably trembling) feet. The 100th floor also features an art gallery with paintings and various art installations.

The 99th floor features the highest restaurant in Busan, the ‘Sky 99 Grill & Pasta’ and the highest Starbucks in the world! Kindly note that world’s highest Starbucks is only available to visitors of Busan X the Sky – so make sure not to miss it during your trip, as you can’t just pop in. Next to the restaurant, guests can explore more amazing views over Busan and beyond in the ‘Sky Garden.’

On the 98th floor visitors find beautiful projections in ocean themes on a moving ceiling screen during the hanging kinetic show called ‘Sky Wave’ and enjoy entertaining laser light performances named ‘Sky X Show.’ Visitors are also invited to ‘X the Photo,’ for a souvenir picture. Furthermore, guests can enjoy the women’s lounge, ‘Blackup coffee,’ and shop in the fully stocked souvenir shop named ‘X the Gift.’ As a nice touch, guests can leave a note on the big screens in the area called ‘Sky Letter’ before leaving.

Busan X the Sky is a popular tourist attraction and the observation deck offers many visitors fantastic views both during the day and at night. This has also not gone unnoticed by the media, Busan X the Sky has already appeared as a location in the popular Korean drama series, ‘Now, we are breaking up’ in 2021.
