We proudly welcome the iconic Shanghai Tower to the World Federation of Great Towers! Standing at an astonishing 632 meters (2,073 feet), this breathtaking structure is China’s tallest building and the third tallest in the world. Located in the heart of the Lujiazui Financial Zone in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, the majestic high-rise boasts 127 floors above the ground and 5 floors below ground level. Shanghai Tower spans a total of 578,000 square meters, with 410,000 square meters soaring above ground and 168,000 square meters extending below the surface. Covering an area of 30,368 square meters, this impressive skyscraper is a hub for business, hospitality, entertainment, and sightseeing.

Built to Impress

Designed by Gensler & Associates International, Ltd. and built by Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd., Shanghai Tower took seven years to complete before its official inauguration in 2017. During its construction, over 4,000 workers contributed to bringing this incredible tower to life!
