Today we celebrate the 25th birthday of Auckland Sky Tower. The Sky Tower is a fantastic vantage point on the city and provides spectacular views of the harbor and surrounding areas. Operating since 1997, this 328-metres-tall giant is a proud member of the World Federation of Great Towers and attracts over 400,000 visitors per year. - SkySlide – an immersive VR experience
Have you ever had a Virtual Reality experience? If the answer is no, we would certainly recommend SkySlide, a new virtual reality experience taking place at 186m above the city. With the help of cutting-edge VR technology, guests gets transported into the 360° real-world simulation, wherein the transcendental voyage takes place. Once inside, guests find the Sky Tower wreathed with a swarm of wriggling glass tubes, which the guests, consequently, get to ride as a roller coaster at the terrifying (or, rather *breathtaking) velocities and altitudes. - Sky Deck
The Sky Deck offers guests mesmerizing 360-degree views of Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf through virtually seamless glass. According to some, the views are best seen at sunset, when the sun sets over the city’s skyline. Sky Deck is located on level 60, making it the highest public observation level in the Sky Tower. Excitingly, as of recently, SkyCity started ‘Hire Sky Deck’, offering Sky Deck as a prime location for private events capable of hosting up to 100 guests. - Yoga in the sky
Whether you are a local or a tourist, nothing beats the serenity of casting out the sun salutation on a Sunday morning. This is an experience that all daredevils will truly love. Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to fly among the clouds? The Sky Jump comes with a helmet and goggles to make the experience even more realistic. The attraction has been open since 2004, and has done more than 1 million Sky Jumps in that time. If you are looking for a place to go with your adventurous friends or family this summer, then this is definitely an option worth considering. After 11 seconds of pure adrenaline, with virtually nothing but a wire suspending you in the air at 192 meters above ground, the world will surely feel different. Extra fun: throughout the month of August, the Sky Tower has planned a variety of celebrations for their 25th anniversary. The online ticket price for adults has been decreased to $19.97 to match the opening year. The tower will lit up on 3rd August, as a part of their birthday celebration, and to make things more exciting, the public has been invited to select the colors of the lights on preselected dates. The birthday month will be filled with special cocktails, a mini art gallery at the observation deck, fun entertainment, and discounts on Sky Walk and Sky Jump.
