Embracing the Loong Tower: The Marvel of Harbin Joins the World Federation of Great Towers

We are thrilled to announce a magnificent addition to the World Federation of Great Towers – the remarkable Loong Tower in Harbin, China!

Soaring to an impressive height of 336 meters (1,102 feet), the Loong Tower, also known as Long Ta (Chinese: 龙塔), is a famous landmark in the Heilongjiang Province. This architectural marvel, with its all-steel structure, has garnered national recognition, earning its place among AAAA-level tourist scenic spots. Construction took three years, culminating in its inauguration on October 1, 2000. It proudly stands as a symbol of progress and innovation. The tower ranks as the fourth tallest freestanding lattice tower in the world, the second tallest in Asia, and the tallest in China.

Beyond its impressive height, the Loong Tower offers visitors observation decks and buffet restaurants, providing the perfect setting to take in the breathtaking views of Harbin and its surroundings.

The Loong Tower boasts not one, but four observation decks, with the highest perched at an impressive 190 meters (623 feet). Here, visitors can savor sweeping 360-degree views of Harbin, its picturesque surroundings, and beyond. In summer, a high-altitude camping festival is held at the observatory, which is deeply loved by tourists.

One of the crown jewels of the Loong Tower is the Yunshang Western Restaurant, nestled at a breathtaking altitude of 186 meters (709 feet). With a seating capacity of 200, it’s renowned throughout Northeast China and offers a dining experience like no other.

The tower is not just a magnificent structure; it’s also a hub for television broadcasting and telecommunication, transmitting FM/TV broadcasts throughout the province of Heilongjiang.

With the inclusion of the Loong Tower, the World Federation of Great Towers embraces an even greater diversity of architectural wonders, each a testament to its city’s unique culture and spirit. We’re elated to welcome the Loong Tower into our federation!
